Medical Billing Company Alert-ICD-10 Delayed to 2015

Picture of Insights and Information to Prepare for ICD-10

An important, OFFICIAL Medical Billing Company Alert was received by Physicians Billing Service this evening.  A motion passed in the Senate this evening, Monday,  March 31, 2015, that ICD-10 is delayed to October 1, 2015.  This was reported by BC (Billing Coding) Advantage  this evening at 6:47 p.m. EST.

According to BC Advantage, the bill “just needs the President’s official signature now”.  BC Advantage noted that “The Senate has just approved H.R. 4302 (Doc fix) bill to, amongst other things, delay the ICD-10 implementation date to October 1, 2015.”

Physicians Billing Service will continue to keep you apprised of new developments on ICD-10.  As Medical Practices and Physicians are aware, ICD10 represents almost a 10x increase in complexity.  The medical community has voiced substantial concerns over the amount of substantial stresses from Training for ICD-10 and preparing for the Affordable Care Act.
